Pipino for the Kiddo

Although it is said it's quite hard to have kids eat vegetables and fruits, my mother never really that problem with my siblings and me. It's not because we loved our veggies so much, it is instead due to our fear of her. :D Now that we're older, we are grateful because there are times when we only eat salads especially the times we want to drop some pounds like... now that the summer season's coming in! (though I still sneak some junk foods especially when the rain suddenly falls so heavily and I feel that the summer is being boycotted!!!)

It's quite hard to eat out and find somewhere healthy to eat... but... Try Pipino (vegetarian food by Pino) where vegetables are amazingly delicious the kiddies won't even know they shouldn't have liked the food!

Lindt French Macarons is Love

Our family's hunt for the yummyiest french macarons started with my sister's friend coming from her honeymoon gave Lindt macarons as pasalubong.

Unfortunately, because I sleep early, I was not able to try even one. (The downside of having a big family? Food disappears fast! and I mean, really fast!) They were all gushing about how good it was the next morning. I didn't put much attention since I remember eating Bizu's french macarons and not liking it even one bit. Huh. But I did join the trying of all kinds of macarons we can find. :D

Then my boyfriend went on a trade mission to Australia. Out of curiosity, I asked him to buy two boxfuls for me. (Two, just to make sure I'll be able to eat one piece!)

I gave him this address:
Lindt & Sprüngli (Australia) Pty. Ltd.
Level 7, 299 Elizabeth Street
Sydney NSW 2000
Australia

The obedient boyfriend went and saw the headquarters of Lindt in Australia. :D The offices are there, but no cafe. Bummer. He went back to his hotel only to notice a Lindt cafe right beside his hotel. *sheepish smile*

Thankfully, because he went through all that trouble he decided to bring home 5 boxes! :D *shall make more mistakes next time!*

Here's the one and only box I got to have all to myself!

I would have taken more pictures of only to make the most out of it (It costs php150 each!!!) but I got seduced and ate one after the other. (taking 5 bites each, 6 when I could manage!)

Check them out here:

I swear! They little pieces of heaven! The meringue was perfectly soft with a little crunch and the filling has just the right sweetness.  Every flavor has its distinct taste. I loved the strawberry the best. The salted caramel and vanilla would be next in line. The christmas flavor (red and green) has a ginger tang going for it making it an interesting piece. The rest are also very good.

Note to self: Must go to Australia soon! :D

Yabu vs. Crazy Katsu vs. You

Basing on the long queues in Yabu since it opened, everybody has tried Yabu by now. Some gush about it, some snob it for a second chance.
Well, here's our meal experience in Yabu!

Dazzled by the Puzzle Mansion

I've been so many times in Tagaytay that there's nowhere else to do there but eat. As of late, whenever we go there what we do is eat really good brunch, go to Taal Vista to read and hangout (while drinking bottomless lemonade the whole afternoon, really worth it!) and then eat yummy dinner. Thankfully, this year there seems to be lots of reasons to go back there- again and again aside from good food.

One of those reasons is the Puzzle Mansion. I wouldn't know about this if it weren't for my sister. Of course, if I just went to Tagaytay we would've known about this anyway because of the many, many advertisements along the way. :D

Balkan: My new Yugoslavian friend

One of the things I love about traveling is trying out different cuisines. Fortunately, it seems to me that there is little need to travel abroad in order to try foreign dishes.

A friend recommended Balkan, only telling me that 1. they serve yummy food, and 2. it's Yugoslavian. I therefore just had to try it at once!
