Everybody! Try Everybody's Cafe

A friend's birthday wish to be in the beach brought us to Pampanga. Sadly, it rained and we had to change plans. Our beach adventure soon became a gastronomical adventure, to everyone's horror.

Sly, wicked me brought them to Everybody's Cafe to eat frogs and crickets!

The restaurant is actually a turo-turo (point-point, as people joke about it.) and we had some fun pointing out the food and trying to figure out what they were. To my great dismay, they had run out of Betute (stuffed frog). No matter, we really came here to try the Kamaro (fried crickets).

Here's our full table. I unfortunately wasn't able to take pictures of the other dishes (they're all very hungry and just finished it off!) but we loved the tapang kalabaw (carabao meat tapa), sisig, morcon (we kidded them that it's cat meat, now I couldn't remember what it really was.), lengua (ox tongue) and native chocolate drink.

This here is the kamaro. You can see the crickets- its wings and icky feet. It looks gross! But it's really yummy- bursting tasty blood in your mouth when you chew! hihihi...

This is simply the place to go to for the Philippine exotic food adventure! Have some bucks with you though, it's not as cheap as your typical turo-turo.

  1. Its actually called Batute. Morcon is like Embutido or also known as filipino meatloaf! We kapampangans love those! Next time try Sisig and those fatty Paldeot from Aling Lucing.
